Fellow Township Residents, I’m writing to set the record straight.
IN THE PAST
A few years ago, I was convinced to join the “Independent” slate. I agreed because, like many of you, I believed they were sensible, responsible people who could be trusted with tax payers’ money. But, over time I discovered the truth.
They were overspending on projects and staff. They ran up exorbitant legal fees (click here to FOIA the legal invoices from 2017 to 2024), and failed to maintain and dispose of highway equipment.
I supported some of the projects early on because they sounded like good ideas. But, as the price tags kept going up, I started asking questions. I found myself alone in my concerns.
MAKING A CHOICE
I repeatedly attempted to address these issues, but the “Independents” refused, and continued to vote to make bad choices with your property tax dollars. As I discussed in my previous letter, I decided I couldn’t in good conscience support the “Independents” wasteful spending. So, I made a choice. I reached out to the Republican Party and we put together a team of responsible Republicans to run for Township office (click here to see what we will do for Roscoe Township if elected).
I did achieve a major victory. Under the pressure of the upcoming elections this year, I was able to win a vote that reduces the tax levy for 2025 by over $100,000!
