Fellow Township Residents,
A few months ago, I decided to run for re-election as your Roscoe Township Supervisor. I also made the crucial decision to run as a Republican instead of seeking re-election as an independent. After four years witnessing “independent” candidates give “lip service” to serving tax payers, I decided it’s time to take action because actions speak louder than words.
We have seen the “independent” slate increase Township spending and collect more Township property tax dollars year after year. We have seen them funnel money to “pet” projects, and they voted to increase their own Township pay.
I supported and worked to develop our community center and Founders Park. But, I finally realized I needed to make a change because of the park shelter at Founders Park. The park shelter was estimated to cost $440,000. The “independents” received only one bid at $635,250, which they accepted instead of trying to negotiate it, or consider a rebid. I did not vote for it! The cost of the park shelter ended up over $803,000! Our insurance agency estimated the replacement cost at $356,515.
Roscoe Township taxpayers own a $356,515 park shelter that cost over $803,000! I owned and operated the Roscoe True Value Hardware store for 12 years, and I know you can’t operate a business that way, and you certainly can’t run a Township without being responsible to the people who entrust their property tax dollars to you.
I led the charge to end reckless and irresponsible spending by cutting next year’s Township property tax levy, lowering Township property tax bills by over $100,000. With the help of our Republican slate, I’m going to cut next year’s Township expenses by over $150,000!
I have recruited a team of Republican candidates for Township offices who are committed to end the tax and spend policies of our current “independent” Township officials. That Republican slate is committed to balancing the Roscoe Township budget without increasing your property taxes, putting an end to wasteful spending, and being responsible to you, the taxpayers.
Please cast your vote for the Roscoe Township Republican slate on April 1st!
LET’S MAKE ROSCOE TOWNSHIP RESPONSIBLE AGAIN!
Sincerely,
Bob Nowicki – Roscoe Township Supervisor
