Republicans leadership has delivered great results for Roscoe Township over the years. Eight years ago, a group of Independents took over, and started off with great intentions. But since then, things have taken a turn for the worse. Now, Republicans are running to make Roscoe Township responsible again.
What did Republicans do for Roscoe Township?
When Republicans were leading our Township, they made a significant number of improvements. It was also one of the largest periods of continuous growth in Township history.
Republicans built the Stone Bridge Trail and Lookout. They built the Hononegah Path. Also, they built Kelly Myers Park.
Who built the Kenwood-Creek Path? Republicans did. They also built Cross Park, and the Roscoe Middle School Path.
Republican leadership went beyond area projects. They assisted in financing and planning the Stone Bridge Nature Preserve. Also, Republicans assisted Hononegah High School in acquiring land for a future high school in Roscoe Township!
Our Republican team will lead our Township the right way, using these achievements as benchmarks.
What’s the Difference Between Republicans and the “Independents”?
Republican leadership wrote grants the right way and were critical of overspending on projects. The total cost for what Republicans built was about $5 million dollars. Grants and donations covered 2/3 of the project cost. That’s $3 million!
The “Independents” have struggled to get 1/3 of the Park Shelter they built covered by grants. They added bathrooms and a concession stand that requires maintenance paid for by… OUR PROPERTY TAXES! Was it because the grant writing wasn’t up to snuff? Possibly.
Was it because they didn’t ask for a rebid or negotiation before approving the skyrocketing costs of that park shelter? Yep. It sure was.
